23537You may think it’s crazy …. but I had an IG friend whom I never met in person who lived just outside of Milan, Italy. He was an older gentleman who was a puppeteer/puppet creator and I believe had a program on the public broadcasting network there. He would occasionally send encouraging, kind and funny messages (never weird - I’ve received plenty of those before! I know the difference!!😂). He was retired and had a wonderful sense of humor. I believe we connected during Covid pandemic. One day, he sent a message telling me that he was ill. He had COPD (the illness my mother died from.) I knew first hand what his future would look like: oxygen tank, probable anxiety attacks, shortness of breath. In all of my busyness a few months ago, it occurred to me that I hadn’t heard from him in a while. I went to our DM messages and sure enough - it had been in May that I last heard from him. I went to his profile, and there had been no activity for a few months. I Googled him and discovered that he had passed away. I’m heartbroken that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him. Yes, it’s just social media. It’s just a platform. It’s full of craziness and ugly comparisons to one another and inflammatory dogma between rivaling POVs. . . But it’s also a place where friendships are forged - especially between people whose paths might not have ever crossed. For all of you that have connected with me in some way here in IG world we may never meet in person, but you will always be in my heart. And if you are in my heart, you are sure to be in my prayers. 39725POV: When the hat chooses you ….🤠 Meet the Christmas gift from my children! This year they made it about the experience AND the gift. The hat was created at @rancherhatbar in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona where I was able to choose a cowboy hat and then customize it with any number of things. I chose a hat band, charm, feather and branding for this hat. I was going to go for a black cowboy hat (always love how it gives Johnny Cash swagger vibes 🤩), but unfortunately they were out of every black hat in my size. My daughter, Sophie, picked out this hat and after trying it on I fell in love! It was so fun having my children weigh in on the choices. When I say children, I mean mostly my daughter and daughters-in-love … the guys lasted about 10 minutes before heading across the street for beers!😂 In the end Sophie was the last one standing with me and she was definitely my ultimate voice of reason in its outcome!🙏 Here’s what I/we chose & why: Hatband: it came w/the buckle band, but we added a cream linen band underneath for a little “extra” without feeling over the top. Charm: I added the “C” charm for “Crespi,” because we are all very proud to be Crespis! Deer antlers branding: several years ago we decided to adopt a family crest. We opted for the deer antlers, because of their symbolic meaning: strength, nobility, wisdom, purity, and grace. 😃 Feather: a girl should always have a feather in her cap! Feeling very blessed with a heart full of memories this holiday season. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season of making beautiful memories, too! 🙏❤️🥰

19432Stillness is the gift we forget to unwrap during the holidays. Making time to be still is so difficult for me. It’s really not how I’m wired. I’m already thinking about the second quarter of 2026 and how I will be spending it!😂 But this season, maybe even today, I will choose to be still. I’ll focus on the reason for the season, taking inventory of the multitude of blessings I have so graciously been given, and thank God for every one of them. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my IG community is one of my many cherished blessings. I have become close with many people I’ve never even seen in person. I’ve mourned the loss of one this year, and have been praying for the health of others. It seems strange to say you all mean so much to me … but you do. There it is.
