18553#flashbackfriday Anamika Khanna eyes me over and gives instructions to the assistants for the final tweaks of my outfit, the little details that make all the difference, and when I'm all set, in the line-up before the start of the show, she smilingly asks me "Are you comfortable?" I smile back, beam even, yes I'm comfortable; I'm wearing an outfit called "The Warrior", I am beyond comfortable, I am feeling bold, strong and empowered, and I look around at my fellow models who all look absolutely amazing, in an array of designs, forming a clear cohesion yet all individual in style, ranging from classic, bohemian, soft, ethereal and sensual, to gritty, urban, street wise, rebel chic, all in exquisite materials, everything from artisan woven fabrics, silk, embroidery, (by @arshgupta47 🤩) graphic prints, lace, mirror and metal work to distressed, embellished denim; traditional Indian craftsmanship and shapes with a contemporary, Western twist, every single design a statement piece, and, oh so comfortable! 🤩❤️ An extra bonus, serpentining through the toy box aisles at @hamleysofficial (yes, the venue was the classic toy store! 😃) I turn a corner and clock Indian film star @sonamkapoor - eeeeeee! 🤩😍 I am honoured and delighted to have been a part of @akok.in debut at the @LondonFashionWeek, warmest thanks to Anamika Khanna and @troycasting for selecting me, @annatrevelyan for the styling, @charliaverymakeup for the make up and all the lovely, expert assistants who took such meticulous care of every little detail; this definitely was a show to remember! 🤩❤️❤️❤️ . . . #AKOK #londonfashionweek
13612Being head chef at a gastro pub, a 4 times National Champion whittler and an amateur fencer doesn't exactly scream tech savviness but being an avid Sci Fi aficionado, a ChatGPT Plus subscriber (so he's a mid range geezer, and what?) and the owner of a shed, in this particular case, amounted to exactly that, so, when it came to the beyond exasperating London A to B commuting Thomas had taken it upon himself to find a solution. Attempt one, Thomas having assembled and stabilised a flux capacitor, had failed; as it turned out for whizzing through the epochs, and, along the way, finding his one true love - pukka, for punctuality, useless. Furthermore, he was now heart broken as he had left his beloved - possibly pregnant - Brunhilde behind. The next strategy had at first seemed more promising, Thomas having managed to scavenge together enough data storage for a pattern buffer, but, vexingly the destination re-materialisation code had failed and Thomas kept getting stuck in the 1’s and the 0’s, causing him to at times be a no show for days, and, there's only so much eye rolling from one's sous chef one can tolerate. Having taken up photography after retirement he had gone to London, where he was born, to capture the places he had spent time during his childhood and with his mother being first violinist, this was one of his favourite playgrounds. Also, it was here that he had become aware of photography, having had his photo taken by a stranger on this very spot. He had made a face, run up to the stranger and pestered her with endless questions about her camera, tugged at her gear, and followed her around until she had seen no other recourse than to flee. He chuckled at the memory and wondered what had become of the photographer, and, had the photograph of him turned out well? Surely not...
