Seit über zehn Jahren engagiert sich Petra van Bremen als Botschafterin für Look Good Feel Better. Der Auslöser dafür war eine sehr persönliche Erfahrung: „Als bei meiner besten Freundin Sylvie Meis Brustkrebs diagnostiziert wurde, war es das erste Mal, dass ich mit den Auswirkungen von Krebs und Chemotherapie konfrontiert wurde. Ich wurde Zeugin ihrer emotionalen Belastung, als sich ihr Aussehen während der Behandlung veränderte. Als Model verstehe ich die Sensibilität des eigenen Aussehens – und wie viel es bedeutet, sich trotz Krankheit wieder wohl in der eigenen Haut zu fühlen.“ Diese Erfahrung wurde zum Anstoß für ein ganz besonderes Engagement: Petra begleitet seit vielen Jahren unsere Seminare bei der Hamburger Krebsgesellschaft. Sie nimmt sich Zeit, hört zu, macht Mut. Dabei bringt sie nicht nur ihre eigene Geschichte mit, sondern auch viel Feingefühl, Lebensfreude und echte Wertschätzung für jede einzelne Teilnehmerin.
