242Pinch me! This dream moment walking in the L’Oréal Paris ‘WALK YOUR WORTH’ runway was one I will never forget ♥️ It was so uniquely special!! The reason… it was the most beautiful, joyful celebration of women’s WORTH! To share it with such inspiring women who are passionate about positively advancing women’s empowerment in so many different ways was everything! Such a beautiful sisterhood experience 🥰 …and not only that, the energy of the audience responding to this sisterhood moment was incredible!! A true reflection of how this uplifting positivity resonates. Inspired by the LE DÉFILÉ runway at Paris Fashion Week, I think our L’Oréal Paris Australia and New Zealand ‘Walk Your Worth’ runway nailed it with the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour 🙌 An absolute credit to the whole team! Thank you to everyone involved in making it happen. Having my eldest daughter there (last slide) made it all the more meaningful for me! My daughters are my inspiration and motivation to continue to help change the perception of women as we age. I want them and all young women to know that ageing is beautiful! 543174Some of my runway looks over 2.5 years ❤️ Seriously love the excitement of this aspect of modelling and more importantly …the huge privilege it is to be a representative of older women at these fashion shows! #StyleHasNoAge #ProAge Had a bit of a look at all my recent runway events to put together a reel and what’s wild is I’ve walked 70 times in 2.5 years!! That’s all the looks I’ve worn on a runway at different events, with multiple shows it adds up. Is this a sign that age diversity is progressing? Considering I’m new to this work it’s been exciting!! So grateful! 🙏 My first runway event was Melbourne Fashion Week in November 2021 and at age 58 I literally learnt on the job! I told myself that these beautiful young people modelling, all at one point, had a first runway job …and if they can do it, I can do it too. I needed to be there to show that age is irrelevant when it comes to style so I practised a LOT before the event, recorded my walk in heels and adapting until it was ok! It was a challenging show for sure as the runway was long! it took 4 minutes to walk and we did 3 shows in which I had 3 looks… so let’s say I was thrown in the deep end at the Melbourne Aquarium venue 😅 It was amazing I loved it! I remember being so present and joyfully aware while walking, not nervous as it wasn’t about me, it never is. 22599I’m 62 Sometimes need to remind myself! 😅 If this is what 62 feels like… then I was misled into believing that I would feel less mobile, less energetic, weaker or maybe even fragile, sort of ‘elderly’, insignificant, unfashionable, invisible, somehow irrelevant, insecure, of little value. Undervalued. 62 feels: Empowered, strong, confident, with a ‘knowing’ that is complimented by a superpower of intuition. It feels wise, more loving, more accepting, kinder, happier, calmer, poised, unruffled, dignified, unafraid, bold, courageous, self-assured, brave and adventurous, determined, motivated with a continued capacity and desire for knowledge and growth. Being human is a beautiful process of expansion and blossoming! That’s ageing! Why are we so afraid of it?
